Quick Overview

‘Iran Ancient Land of Persia’ will give an overall impression of the most significant historical sites of ancient and medieval Iran. A jewel in the crown of this journey is the mesmerizing ziggurat of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tchoqa Zanbil, considered the greatest religious complex of this country’s antiquity.
Some of the other main highlights include the 3rd Century building complex at Bishapur, built by Emperor Shapur, with remains of a temple dedicated to Anahita, and six outstanding Sassanian rock reliefs commemorating his victories over the Romans. Also featured is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the 5th Century BC palatial complex of Persepolis, a colossal stage on which the Achaemenids displayed the glories of Ancient Persia, and another UNESCO World Heritage Site: Naqsh-i Jahan Square in Isfahan, representing the climax of Islamic architecture of 17th Century Persia.
